Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 25 years
Birth Date Range: Candidates must have been born between 02.01.2001 and 01.01.2008 (both dates inclusive).
Crucial Note: Unlike other railway recruitments, no relaxation in the upper or lower age limit is permissible for any category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS).

Candidates must possess recognized sports achievements in the current and/or immediate previous two financial years (i.e., achievements on or after 01.04.2023 to the date of the notification). The minimum achievements vary by Pay Level and are mandatory:
Level 4 & 5: At least 3rd position in World Cup/World Championship/Asian Games/Commonwealth Games (Senior Category) or equivalent.
Level 2 & 3: Represented the country in Commonwealth Championship/Asian Championship/SAF Games (Senior/Junior Category) OR at least 3rd position in the Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category) OR at least 8th position in Senior National Championships (excluding Marathon and Cross Country).
Level 1: Represented a State or equivalent unit (except in Marathon and Cross Country) with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships OR equivalent achievements in various Category 'C' Championships.
The selection is based purely on the assessment of sports performance, suitability, and educational merit, without a written examination.

Final Selection: The merit list will be prepared from the total of 100 marks. Candidates must achieve specific minimum total marks (e.g., 70 for Level 4/5, 65 for Level 2/3, and 60 for Level 1) to be considered for the final selection.
The application fee is payable online and a portion is refundable to candidates who actually appear for the Sports Trials.
