Selection Process

The selection process is based on a written test and a skill test, with final selection based on the written test score.

Written Examination:

    • An objective-type test with 80 questions and a duration of 90 minutes.

    • There is a negative marking of 0.33 marks for each incorrect answer.

  • Skill Test:

    • This test is "go-no-go" (pass or fail) and is specific to each post.

    • Fireman-A: Includes a two-stage Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Stage 1 involves a 1500-meter run for males (800 meters for females) and Stage 2 includes events like rope climbing, human dummy carrying, long jump, and a 100-meter sprint. Candidates must pass all events.

    • Drivers: A practical driving test to assess maneuvering skills with the respective vehicles.

    • Assistant (Rajbhasha): A typing test for Hindi proficiency and a computer proficiency test on software like MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

  • Final Merit List: The final merit list is prepared solely based on the marks obtained in the written test, provided the candidate has passed the skill test.
