Validity: Only a score from GATE 2023, 2024, or 2025 is considered valid.
Weightage: This GATE score is the basis for shortlisting candidates for the interview in a 1:5 ratio (5 candidates for every 1 vacancy).
The second and final stage is the Personal Interview. The 'syllabus' for this stage is broader and covers your technical expertise, general awareness, and personal attributes essential for a central government DFO role.
Deep Subject Knowledge: Expect questions from your final year/core subjects and the subjects relevant to your GATE paper. You must be able to apply theoretical concepts to practical scenarios.
B.Tech/M.Sc Project: Thorough knowledge of your academic projects, internships, and any work experience is crucial, especially regarding the technical challenges and solutions involved.
Domain Specifics: Be prepared to discuss current technologies and their application in the relevant field (e.g., Cyber Security trends for CS/IT, or advanced communication systems for E&TC).
This assesses your suitability for working in a sensitive and demanding Central Government organisation.
