The Indian Air Force (IAF) Agniveer Vayu Group Y course is for candidates seeking a non-technical role in the IAF. This course is part of the Agniveer Vayu scheme, which recruits young individuals for a four-year term of service.
Eligibility and Selection Process
To be eligible for the Group Y exam, candidates must have passed their 10+2 (Intermediate) examination in any stream from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English. The selection process is comprehensive, beginning with a written online exam. This is followed by a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), which includes a 1.6 km run, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats. Candidates who clear the PFT then undergo medical and adaptability tests.
Course Syllabus and Exam Pattern đź“–
The Group Y online exam has a duration of 45 minutes and consists of two sections: English and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA). There are a total of 50 questions, with 20 questions from English and 30 from RAGA. Each question carries one mark, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer. The English syllabus covers grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension, while the RAGA section includes topics like logical reasoning, numerical ability, general knowledge, and current affairs.
