✈️ Indian Air Force Agniveer (Non-Science Group – Formerly Group Y) – Detailed Description
The Indian Air Force (IAF) offers an excellent career opportunity to young candidates through the Agniveer Vayu scheme, which has replaced the earlier Airmen Group Y recruitment. This post is best suited for candidates who have completed their 10+2 in any stream (excluding science with math and physics) and wish to work in administrative, logistics, accounts, and other non-technical branches of the IAF.
🛡️ Role & Responsibilities:
Under Group Y (Non-Technical Trades), candidates work in various departments such as:
Administrative assistance (clerical work, personnel management)
Logistics and Supply chain (storage, distribution of defense supplies)
Accounts and finance
Medical Assistant Trade (for candidates with Biology background)
Communication and Operations support
The work involves coordination, management, and support for smooth airbase operations and national security logistics.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria:

📝 Exam Pattern & Syllabus (Non-Science Group):
The online written exam for the Non-Science group is of 45 minutes, comprising:
Subjects:
English: Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Error Correction
Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA):
Current Affairs, Indian History, Geography, Civics
Basic Math, Logical Reasoning, Mental Ability
Type: MCQs (Objective)
Negative Marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer
🏋️ Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
1.6 km run in 6 min 30 sec
10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats
Minimum height: 152.5 cm
Chest expansion: 5 cm
💰 Salary & Career:
Salary during Agniveer service: ₹21,000–₹28,000/month (4 years)
Seva Nidhi after 4 years: ₹10.04 lakh (tax-free)
25% best performers will be offered permanent roles
