โ๏ธ Indian Air Force Agniveer (Science Group โ Formerly Group X)ย
The Indian Air Force (IAF) recruits candidates into technical roles through the Agniveer Vayu (Science Group), earlier known as Airmen Group X (Technical Trades). This post is ideal for candidates with a science background who want to work with high-tech machinery, aircraft systems, and communication technology.
Selected candidates work in technical roles such as aircraft maintenance, radar operations, electronic systems, weapons handling, power supply, and communication. They serve at airbases, workshops, or in operational units and contribute to the nation's aerial defense systems.
๐ Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Science Group (Group X equivalent), a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English. Alternatively, candidates with a 3-year Engineering Diploma (in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Computer branches) are also eligible. The age limit is 17.5 to 21 years, and both male and female candidates can apply under the Agniveer Vayu scheme.

๐ Written Exam Pattern & Syllabus:
The online test is of 60 minutes for Science Group. It includes:
English: Grammar, Comprehension, Vocabulary
Mathematics: Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics
Physics: Laws of motion, Thermodynamics, Optics, Electricity, and Magnetism
The level of the questions is based on the CBSE 10+2 syllabus.

Run 1.6 km in 6 minutes 30 seconds
10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats
Minimum height: 152.5 cm, chest expansion: 5 cm
๐ฐ Salary & Career Path:
Under the Agnipath scheme, the monthly salary starts from โน21,000 in the first year, rising to โน28,000 in the fourth year. A Seva Nidhi corpus of โน10.04 lakh is paid at the end of four years. Top 25% performers may be offered a permanent role in the Air Force. Earlier, under the old system, the salary was around โน33,100/month after training.
