Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For Level-2 (Group 'C') Posts:


Passed Intermediate (12th) or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks from recognized board


50% marks condition does NOT apply to SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen or candidates with higher qualifications (Graduation/Post Graduation)


For technical posts: Matriculation (10th) + ITI from recognized institution (NCVT/SCVT) OR completed Act Apprenticeship


For Level-1 (Group 'D') Posts:


Passed 10th standard from recognized board,OR
ITI certificate, OR


National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT


Mandatory Scouts & Guides Qualification
Must possess President's Scout/Guide/Ranger/Rover award OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) Holder in any section
Must be active member of Scouts organization for minimum 5 years


Should have attended two events at National level OR All India Railways level AND two events at State level


Age Limit (as on 1st January 2026)


Level-2 (Group 'C'): 18 to 30 years


Level-1 (Group 'D'): 18 to 33 years


Age Relaxation


SC/ST: 5 years


OBC: 3 years


Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years


Ex-Servicemen: Service rendered in defence + 3 years


Course Completed Act Apprentices (before 25 years): Up to 35 years (UR), 38 years (OBC), 40 years (SC/ST)


Salary & Benefits


Pay Matrix (7th CPC)
Level-2: Starting basic pay ₹19,900 (GP ₹1900)


Level-1: Starting basic pay ₹18,000 (GP ₹1800)

Dearness Allowance (DA): Revised twice yearly based on inflation


House Rent Allowance (HRA): Varies by city of posting

History of Scouting/Guiding, Law & Promise, organization structure, motto, prayer, flag song, social services, hiking, proficiency badges, and general knowledge


Negative Marking:
1/3rd of marks deducted for each wrong answer in objective section


Tier 2: Certificate Evaluation (40 Marks)
Marks awarded based on certificates for participation in various Scouts & Guides events


Higher and more diverse participation earns more marks


National, All India Railways, and State level event participation considered
