The total in-hand salary is significantly higher than the initial basic pay due to various allowances:
Dearness Allowance (DA): A percentage of the basic pay, revised bi-annually.
House Rent Allowance (HRA): Varies based on the city of posting (X, Y, Z cities).
Transport Allowance (TA): A fixed monthly amount for travel expenses.
Other Perks: Comprehensive medical benefits for the employee and dependents, pension under the National Pension System (NPS), and free or concessional railway passes for travel across India.
Must have passed 12th (+2 Stage) or its equivalent from a recognized board/university.
A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the 12th standard is generally required.
Exemption: The 50% minimum mark rule is NOT applicable to candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and those with higher than 12th (+2 Stage) educational qualifications.
Typing Requirement: For Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk Cum Typist, mandatory typing proficiency in English (30 WPM) or Hindi (25 WPM) on a Personal Computer is essential.
Note: Candidates awaiting their final 12th results are NOT eligible. The qualification must be held on or before the closing date (November 27, 2025).
General/EWS: 18 to 30 years.
Age Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxation is provided for reserved categories:
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
SC / ST: 5 Years
PwBD (UR & EWS): 10 Years
PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 Years

The selection is based on the performance across multiple stages, which candidates must clear sequentially.
Purpose: Common screening test, qualifying in nature.
Duration: 90 minutes.
Total Questions: 100.
Subjects & Marks: General Awareness (40), Mathematics (30), General Intelligence & Reasoning (30).
Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deduction for every wrong answer.
Purpose: Marks determine the final merit list (for non-typing posts).
Duration: 90 minutes.
Total Questions: 120.
Subjects & Marks: General Awareness (50), Mathematics (35), General Intelligence & Reasoning (35).
Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deduction for every wrong answer.
Applicable Posts: Junior Clerk cum Typist and Accounts Clerk cum Typist.
Nature: Qualifying (marks are not added to the final merit).
Required Speed: 30 WPM in English OR 25 WPM in Hindi on a Personal Computer.
Candidates clearing the above stages will be called for document verification and a subsequent medical examination (as per prescribed railway standards).
The application fee is paid online, with a significant portion being refundable upon appearing in the 1st Stage CBT (CBT-1).

The process involves a new unified registration system, requiring candidates to create an account first.
Preparation: Have a valid mobile number, active email ID, scanned signature (30-49 KB, JPG/JPEG), and required certificates (if applicable).
Account Creation/Login: Visit the official RRB application portal. Candidates must first 'Create an Account'. Use the same credentials if an account was created for any previous 2024/2025 CEN.
Application Form: Log in, select CEN No. 07/2025, and fill in all personal, educational, and preference details carefully.
Photo & Signature: Capture a live photograph (uploading an old photo is not permitted) and upload the scanned signature.
Fee Payment: Pay the application fee online.
Submission: Review the form and submit. Download and print the final application for future reference.
